Cupcakes!!

So in my branch I am the enrichment activity food coordinator, and our activity for February is making valentine's day goodies! So I practiced making cupcakes today!! Not just any cupcakes... ROSE cupcakes, if you can't tell I am very excited about these cupcakes!!
The Roses are made out of cherry gummy candies that you roll out and then shape into roses. You roll them out in sugar so they don't stick to the rolling pin, you cut them in half, and roll them back up and shape them into roses.

Then the leaves for the roses are made out of green tootsie rolls that you microwave for 2-3 seconds then roll out and cut and shape into leaves, so far these cupcakes are basically a death trap for diabetic me, but they are fun to make for others to enjoy!!
The cupcakes them selves are basic vanilla cupcakes with white frosting, the edges of the cupcake are rolled in red or green colored sugar, for a nice touch!

Then you place the roses and and leaves on the cupcakes, and voila! Rose cupcakes!! Fun and cute : )

So after making about 15 rose cupcakes I was tired of doing all of that work so I made the last few cupcakes like this...
Enjoy!!
